What granite contains

Granite commonly includes quartz, feldspar, mica, and other minerals. The proportions and crystal sizes vary, which is why one granite can look quiet and consistent while another has dramatic movement and visible mineral deposits.

Why it works for countertops

Granite is hard, durable, and naturally heat resistant. With appropriate sealing and care, it can handle years of normal kitchen use.

Natural variation is part of the material

Color, fissures, mineral deposits, and movement can change across a single slab. Those are not automatically defects. They are characteristics to review before the slab is purchased and cut.
